Set free the used RAM

Hello,

When working with C1 on my "a bit older" Core2Duo with 4GB Ram, C1 uses 1-2 GB RAM. When doing intensive things, like exporting many Photos. The RAM-Usage rises up to nearly 4GB. This is no problem for me, I know, that my PC is not the fastest. But when C1 finished these Actions it sets the used RAM not free. My actual solution is to restart C1.

Is this normal for C1 V7? I have this problem also on my Notebook.

  No one with the same problem, or without this problem? I would be happy to know if this ist normal or a problem.

  Are you running anything else on the machines?
  
  If not then what holds the memory is not very important - you have invested in it - at least it is being used! 😉
  
  If you are running other applications that are now unable to find enough memory because the system does not release it - well, that's a different situation and needs to be investigated. I would create a support case and provide some examples.

  try this utilty http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem . It frees up memory that programs have not released correctly. earlier c1 v6.x used to be very bad at releasing memory although later ones were better. v7 seems to have a similar problem at the moment.

  I thought they were going to fix this in the last .02 release, but they didn't. In-between the .01 and .02 release I upgraded my ram from 12 GB to 24 GB. Before it would use it all up and then lock up. I have used it a few times since the .02 release and it locked up both times. The second time it used 13 GB of memory before it froze and I had to kill it using task manager.
