Re-Register request everytime i open the program
Hello! Long time C1 user, first time posting.
The motivation for this post is as follows, I can't honestly figure this out.
To preface, I've dumped prefs, and other cache files for c1.
Current Issue:
1. Installed C1 9.3
2. Replaced old install
3. Trashed the instance of 9.2 on my Dock
4. Brought 9.3 onto the dock.
5. If i open a session made in 9.3, it opens another c1 app on the end of the dock, like a program opened for the first time, the new C1 requires my activation code, the icon for C1 9.3 that i put on the dock is inactive.
6. I enter the activation code, and use C1 as normal,
7. Shut down C1
8. Re open C1
9. Phantom program bounces on the dock again, asks me for my registration info.
10. Repeat step 6-8
Thoughts?
Best,
ian

Do you have two installations of CO on your Mac? Maybe different versions, maybe in a different path?
Do a 'Show in Finder' with right-click on both dock icons.
Remove the 'wrong' one.

I have exactly the same issue. I only have one copy of CO 9 installed. 0 -
I have the same issue. I removed the shortcut from the dock to insure I was opening the same instance of CO. I logged a support case which suggested I reinstall CO which did not work. Then I was asked if I was the admin of my computer and finally this was the last response from support:
"If CO is not installed and activated under an admin user account for the first time this loop will happen and can not be corrected until the computer is reimaged. If that was not the case then you can only try a reinstall, renaming the app to lets say Capture One 9.3 from Capture One, or making a new admin user account to see if this issue stops there and it came down to permissions. It could the OS and system preferences but you would need to look into those permissions as that is a bit out of our scope."
I think the receptionist handles support case too.
This all started around the time I upgraded to 9.3 and the latest OS.
If I find a solution I will post it here.0 -
Removing the shortcut might not be the solution if you have two instances of CO installed.
And if there are 2 identical versions in two different places, Launchpad and Finder's 'Open with' only show it once. Even if one is renamed and another dot release.
Did you try the following?
1: Remove CO completely. AppCleaner might do the job, but better use the official procedure:
https://www.phaseone.com/en/Search/Arti ... nguageid=1
2: Re-start your Mac.
3: Locate your catalog or session with Finder.
4: Do a right-click and choose 'Open With'. Is there still a CO listed? If yes, there were two installs. Remove this one, too. Maybe it's better to do it the long way, because Mac OS has become tricky over the last releases.
5: Start the CO from 'Open With', then quit it.
6: Repeat 1: and 2: for this install.
7: Do 3: and 4: again to make sure the system doesn't see another one.
8: Install, activate and test.
I do have an assumption what might have happened, but it's just a guess. I'm not sure about posting it here, because I have no proof that it can really cause this behavior in CO. (And I'm not planning to test it, please understand.)
Anyway, the suggested method of creating a new admin account is really a good idea. Try it, it can actually solve your problem. If it doesn't work immediately, try a (re-)install in there.

I have the same problem.
I've been using C-1 since March 2016.
Whenever I launch C-1 from the dock/desktop/catalog I get a black panel asking me to "select your C-1 9 product".
I have a subscription to C-1, so I select "Pro"
A new screen appears, "what would you like to do?"
I click "activate"
"Activate Capture One" appears. I fill in the requested info, and click "activate".
The program launches, and I can use it normally. But when I exit the program and re-start, this process starts again.
In the list of activations, I now have two Dec 2016 activations list in addition to my original activation back in March 2016.
At some point, I'll run out of activations. Can I safely delete the two December 2016 activations safely?
Before I re-install the entire program, has anyone submitted a support case?0 -
Rename the app in finder - Capture One 9 -> Capture One 9.3 (for example)
Launch and activate once.
This should now stick.
Basically your license has become somehow corrupt based the old app installation path, and by renaming you create a brand new one.0 -

Thank-you for your suggestion; it fixed my problem.0
