Applying changes to multiple files
Can anybody explain me the logic behind changing multiple files??
When I use a toolbar function like "Rotate" or "Reset adjustments" it is enough to mark the files I wish to change and the function will work on all selected files.
Fine, but it isn't always that easy! When I'd like to apply other changes like "Exposure", "Saturation" or "Clarity" (for example) I have to "Copy Adjustment", then go to the adjustments clipboard, deselect all other changes that I could have made and then "Apply Adjustments" to the selected pictures.
Not so easy! Why the heck is it not possible to just select the files and apply the changes to all these files at once?? When I don't want this, I can still select only one file OR just use the "Edit Primary Only" button - what else is it then good for?
Other things I couldn't manage to apply them to multiple files at all! Wouldn't it be nice to do an Auto Levels to multiple files?? Or an Auto White Balance? At least at a starting point for further changes this would be really helpful. But how?? Didn't I find that function yet or isn't it possible at all?
I'm just testing CO (4.7) and I was close to toss the whole thing in the trashcan because of this cumbersome implementation of the multiple change function.

I hear you. The clumsiness is not very efficient. Another thing that bugs me is I cannot apply a preset to multiple files. One file at a time. This is all just painfully slow. And to top it all off if I want to apply a preset I have to mouse over grab the little tiny triangle. drop it down, select a preset. move to the next file, mouse the little tiny triangle, over and over and over....On the other hand I do like the compare variant feature.
If I am missing something on the preset thing please let me know. I would love to be able to right click and be able to apply a preset to multiple files. What I would really like is to keep the preset drop down menu open as I apply it to different files.
Another thing I would like to know on the preset thing, is how to keep the preset menu on the main monitor. The preset menu opens on the tool monitor and I have to mouse over to it to select a preset.0 -

Yes, that would be nice and is therefore implemented. Look for the 'A' in the tool's title bar (tested on CO 4.8 but 4.7 should do as well).0 -

For which tool are you discussing the preset here? (it is not clear to me what you actually try to achieve)0 -

Any news? I'm test-driving CO4.8 right now and I'm missing the same functionality...0
