Fuji CO 11 and CO 9
My studio shoots with Phaseone backs and is running CO Pro 9.x, supposedly upgrading soon. I just bought a Fuji XT-2. I have a fully licensed CO 9 on my home computer. Can I manage my files from work in 11 and still go back to 9, knowing that adjustments won't be backward compatible? Can I run both versions on my home computer simultaneously? I will be upgrading to CO 11 when my studio does.

Yes. You could even have (some of) the adjustments be "backwards compatible" by setting the default rendering engine on the studio computer (running version 11) to Capture One 9 (under Preferences > Image > Default Rendering Engine). This shifts the rendering to the version 9 pipeline and writes version 9-compatible adjustments. Of course, you won't have all the adjustments, as it'll be limited to what was possible in 9, but it will be 100% portable.
Otherwise, you're not going to have the adjustments done in 11's rendering engine available in your 9 installation.
You can run both versions on your computer, but not simultaneously. Once you upgrade to version 11 on your home machine, there won't be much need to hold on to version 9 as version 11 will parse and render the images in the version 9 engine without issue.0
