Moving original file name / sequential number into MetaData
Does anyone know of a way (within Phase, or as an add-on) to embed the file name as shot into the metadata, so that when a file is renamed for the client, the original capture back serial # will still travel with the file? I'd love to batch rename folders of files, but still be able to reference back to the unique capture number.
Thanks

Hi,
Have you tried batch renaming your files in Bridge CS3.
Select several RAW files in Bridge, Then under the TOOL on the top bar select "batch rename ". In the section called "OPTIONS" make sure there is a check in
Preserve current file name in XMP file Metadata, before you batch rename.
Then rename......
When you view the folder with all of you RAW files in bridge, make sure Metadate window is open. The line under file name is the preserved field, with the"original file name".
Unfortunately, C1 pro won't be able to read this info, just Bridge and other programs that read XMP file and have the associated fields.
Maybe this will be a feature in C! Pro V4 ?
