Local adjustment of white balance?
Is it possible to adjust white balance/colour temperature as a local adjustment? I am thinking if the kind of shot where one part is in sunlight and one is in shade. As far as I can see, it can't be done, but I thought I'd ask in case I've missed something.

Hi Ian,
No, white balance is not a local adjustments tool. Maybe the color editor can help you out?0 -
Thanks, Paul. I'll try it. I wonder whether it is a feature that might come some time.

White Balance doesn't work on a layer.
However the Advanced Color Editor does work. So you can adjust HUE on layer.
Please note that you can't embed the camera profile on export if you use color edits on a layer... so you have to export to AdobeRGB, ProPhotoRGB or any other color space of your choice.0 -
Thanks, thowi.
I tried that at your suggestion, but it doesn't really do what is needed. I suppose that my choices are to
(1) process the file twice at two different white balance settings and blend them in GIMP, Photoshop or whatever, or
(2) use Lightroom which apparently can do local adjustments of white balance. (I am trialling Lightroom at the moment, but have I say that I don't like it as much as Capture One for the most part.)
A feature for the wish list for future releases, I suppose.

It's been requested here as well:

It's a feature that is really needed in C1!0
