Catalog import: Remove old CaptureOne settings folders
Hi,
I am moving my old archived folders into catalogs for easier search and find. When I do this I of course import with the settings. Then of course all changes I do, are only reflected in the catalog (besides the data written to the XMP sidecar files).
Is it save to delete the left over "CaptureOne" Settings folders that also hold all the preview data?

Catalogs contain their own previews. That's no problem. I always delete the settings folders after importing my old, finished sessions into referenced catalogs (with adjustments). It works just fine.
The only limitation is that I cannot easily revert to a session with it. But that's nothing I worry about in my workflow. It wouldn't reflect any adjustments applied while in the catalog anyway.
I cannot say anything about sidecar XMP files because I simply don't use them.

Hans,
thanks for the info.
And yeah, once in a catalog you can't go back to sessions. Not to a big worry for me either.
And XMP files work with referenced images perfectly. Tested that already. changes (eg color tag, rating, keywords) are reflected in other apps that can read XMP files like LightRoom.0
