How to save page setup and print settings
In both C1 9 & 10 there appears to be no way to save both the page setup and the print settings. I have to set up each every time I want to print. I can save a template, however, it will save everything but the most important settings - print settings and page setup. I must be missing something.
Part of the v10 upgrade was improved printing - Hmm? Every other program I can possibly print from allows me to save both of these sets of settings and they will be recalled every time I select the saved template. These settings aren't even sticky.
If I am wrong please show how to fix this.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bob

V10 improvements were, as I recall, related to sharpening capability.
C1, in common with many applications it seems, leave the printer settings to the printer driver engine rather than attempt to manage them internally.
There are many drivers out there across the ages and I have no doubts that there are probably nearly as many "standards".
For example I have a now rather old Canon A4 printer that was also available in a revised model. The differences seems to be cosmetic and related to the colour of the plastic casing though there may be other differences inside. I can use the driver for the later model. However it has different UI software and one or two of the settings are either different or named differently between the two drivers. Is managing by coding within an application such as C1 it seems likely that development would need to cover both driver variants ... and any that follow.
I suspect that it can al become a bit messy and a challenge to support. Fair enough if one has developed a RIP program. Not so obviously a good idea if your main objective is a RAW converter and a set of users who may rely on external printing services more often than not.
Whilst systems will usually have a "last used" value available to read from somewhere (usually a registry entry in Windows) the best way I have found to set up a printer which is used for different purposes and outputs from time to time is to create the different combinations as different "printers" and select the "printer" that you want from the list.

Thanks for your comments.
Both Lightroom and Affinity Photo - my other two photo programs - do exactly what I was asking for. Even Photoshop is sticky with the previous settings and not just for the default printer.
In LR and AP you can set up all the printing parameters such as printer, paper type, paper size, icc profile, layout etc. and save as a preset. Then you can select that preset when you wish to print or change to another preset etc. I have a list of presets for various sizes, papers and for each of my three printers.
All I was wondering is if I am missing something in C1 that allows me to do this. C1 is strong on presets in most every function including processing and proofing. I assumed since they can create presets for most everything else that they would have presets for printing.
