Export of selected CR2 files not working

This has worked flawlessly until today! After I select the final images I want to keep, I export the original cr2 files to a folder. Today it doesn't work.

My process:
Menu
file>export images>originals (a window comes up for some selections) > export # originals >get error stating...

Export failed no files were exported

please help!

  Could you try to export to a different folder? Do you use CO 8.1?

  Yes, I tried to save to another folder. still can not export selected images CR2 files.
  I have a 1TB drive with over 500MB free. So space isn't the issue. This happened once before and the solution was to change to another directory.
  This is the 2nd time this has happened.
  
  As a interim solution I am exporting TIFF's at 40MB+ each.
