    gogol,

The Meta Data displayed for Nikon cameras can be found at this link:
    http://support.phaseone.com/KBFiles/1737/1/NikonMac.pdf

My guess is that by using another software before C1, the data are 'hidden' or become proprietary. I suggest trying to load RAW files directly into a Capture One Session, and these data should be present. Additional information can be added to the file by using
Image > IPTC Editor... A watermark can be added at output as well.
And as you say, all information should be there in the output TIF or JPEG files.

    2) It sure seems like you have color settings right. But be absolutely sure to check what color profile is selected at the Process Tool Under Destination_____, each type of output file will have the ability to select ICC Profile at the pulldown (Basic button) Highlight the Name of the file output type and the parameters can be set, i.e. Format:
    Profile:
    Quality:
    Resolution:
    Scale:

Hope this helps, please let me know how this goes for you.

    Sincerely,

    k c

    keith,
    thanks for your reply.

1.) Regarding Metadata / IPTC: I played around with 'IPTC Feature' feature. It is acceptable if you work on a single image. If you have more to process, say 200, it's a nightmare. You can apply setting to all of these 200 images, but on 50 you would like to add keywords which do not apply to the other 150. So, if I add the additional keyword to the 50 image, on these 50 the kewords I added when I did the 200, are gone. If these 200 images need very different keyords, you end up by doing this on one-by-one basis. Inacceptable! Another bad thing is, that the IPTC information, which I captured on the .NEF file in C1 pro, is missing in the .NEF input file, but is in .TIFF and .JPEG output file. Furthermore ITPC information within C1 Pro should be stored in a database, so you can build it up and use the predefined information, and don't have to type them again, and again, ...

2.) profiles: I did exactly what you suggested, but in .TIFF I always get the stupid sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. ☹️

    Thanks and regards,

    gogol,

1> The IPTC Editor seems to have plenty of options and tools to work with. I do see that Custom comes up as the default template, but I was able to Save a Template Name with selected information for studio or certain jobs. I see the Category, Supplemental Category, and Keywords areas. Could your 50 of 200 Keywors use a supplemental? Since you know what data you need, your workflow, and have tested this more than I, I’ll trust your judgment. Should this feature truly be deficient in what you need for success, I encourage you to directly let Developers know using the Capture One Pro > Provide Feedback… link to submit any Feature Requests.

2> The Color issue is puzzling. Possibly your Color Management settings were unknowingly changed. Reset all the settings to default by deleting the Preferences.
Try the following with Capture One closed:

    • Go to the Hard Drive
    • Then to the Users folder.
    • Go to the House icon, this is also known as the \"User\".
    • Enter the User and look for the Library folder
    • Double click on the Library folder and enter.
    • Look for the Preferences folder, open the folder.

In there you'll look for the file com.phaseone.application.captureone.plist.
Once in the trash you can restart the Capture One application. By trashing the preferences you reset the software to it's default settings, so you have to go through the preferences and reset your settings.

Now try to process an image with the Adobe RGB color profile.
Should this fail again, it is possible your Color Sych preferences corrupted.
See Knowledge Base article # 1715 for instructions.

Let me know how this goes for you.

    k c,

first of all, thanks for your comments.

I followed your advice regarding the profile story (actually, I did not have time to look into the IPTC issue, but I will certainly do when I have more time...). I deleted the preference file, still didn't work. So I tried to delete the color sync preferences as written in the KB article 1715, however, I was not able to delete them, even as administrator.

So, basically nothing has changed 😭

    gogol,

Regarding your color problem, you must indicate a camera profile in the color balance window. What does the colorflow info say at the bottom of your edit window? (Not the thumbnail window). It should indicate the source camera profile and the destination profile with a little arrow in between the two.
