Sorry but I am not sure what the suggestion to Phase One in this context is?

Are you suggesting that Capture One be provided as a Cloud based application with a Monthly subscription fee?
The link provided in the title is simply an alternative payment and access plan to existing software produced by Adobe (with a few extras).

My guess is that the OP rejects Adobes plan to only sell subscription based software (Creative Cloud) as announced yesterday. Hence an opportunity to Phase One.

My take is that that opportunity already existed. 😉 But most of all the product offerings of both compagnies mentioned are not comparable. Note that Adobe Lightroom is not part of Creative Cloud only restrictions.

I am perfectly happy with C1 and although I own CS5 I hardly ever use it. I will never subscribe to the new authorization system that Adobe has now put in place, hence CS5 will be my very last Adobe. Just to say, I hope C1 will never follow the same path as Adobe!

    Cheers, Bob.

Don't throw off the Adobe CC, if you just want PS and have a eligible version of PhotoShop you can get PS alone for about $10 a month, for at least a year, otherwise it is $20. So $60/$120 a year for PS to me is great, even if I only use it once a month. You get the software on your computer, (Don't have to use anything of the 'Cloud' if you don't want to.), and only need to connect up once in a while to validate your subscription, (Meaning it will work if you are off grid).

Your math is a little off there 😊

    $10 x 12 = $120 for the first year.

    After that it's $20 x 12 = $240 a year.

That's more than the upgrades used to cost (after the first year honeymoon period).
