Some tiffs from C1 have no thm preview in Photoshop...?
I am using C1 Pro to convert Canon 10D raws to tiffs (full size, 16 bit).
I am going through a batch of images and do the same thing to all (even if I use different colour/contrast, WB etc for different images - but the export format is the same).
When I look in the Develops folder with Photoshop CS file browser some images don't show a thumbnail preview whereas others do! It seems completely arbitrary which show previews and which don't in the file browser. Around one third of the images don't get previews.
(It's not a question of the PS-FB taking a long time to generat the thumbs. I have verified that.)
If I then open one of the files without a thumb preview in Photoshop and do any kind of change (even just in IPTC) and then resave it with PS it then gets its thumbnail back.
Anyone has any idea why some tiffs coming out of C1 don't show a thumbnail preview in Photoshop?
(btw - I use Win XP)

I believe you’ll be able to find a more specific answer in Photoshop Help.
Since large files can slow down the File Browser, there are Preference settings to be established. One involves setting file size to process. My guess is that even though you are processing all .tif files, some of your image adjustments have made some larger than the others. It may well be that editing your File Browser preference in regards to file size to process may be the answer you’re looking for. May well be that manipulating and saving again alters the file size enough to process thumbnail.
Good Luck,

Keith,
Thanks for your suggestion. However, I don't think that's the case. I have the 'don't process files larger than' set to 200MB and all my files were around 30-50MB.
But it is quite possible that it is not a C1 issue. (but had I been lucky someone here would have known about the problem... or others might encounter it here and benefit from the suggestions posted here)
It has happend occasionally also with files that I have exported from Extensis Portfolio.
So I guess there must be some incompatibility in the tiff formats (or bug somewhere in some program(s)).
I will follow your advice and try and find a Photoshop forum. But still, if anyone here has any suggestion I'd be grateful.0
