The Ultimate CO Package
I like CO, but there are opportunities to make it a killer package. Barrell/Pincusion distortion and chromatic abberation are a PITA with the 35mm cameras. (I've tested LensDoc, The Debarrelizer, and ImageAlign)
The best I've used for accurate interpolation with no loss of fine detail and precise control for all types of linear distortion, including gull-winged or moustache distortion is PanoTools. I currently use PanoTools/PTMac Lens Fix, but it adds a step, does it after the RAW conversion in Photoshop, and I had to spend several days building lens correction tables for my lenses. Buy another lens, spend more time making a lens correction table.
DXO labs with its RAW procssor has available some lens software modules that correct that specific lens's linear distortion and color fringing during the RAW conversion, but it would complicate my processing, and their software only does a RAW to JPEG workflow, or RAW to DNG. Makes it complicated or unable to use my CO anymore. Why doesn't PhaseOne team up with DXO and add a lens optimization pane that incorporates the DXO stuff with true lens optimization specific for each lens (as the software can access the EXIF data to determine the lens used.)
I'm sure 2 1/4 lens suffer from some degree of linear distortion and chromatic abberation as well. I'm from the old school, 4x5 with Schneider lenses, and I really lament the loss of that kind of quality. I can get pretty close with lots of different software, but an all-in-one would really make sense.

That's a great request, John. It would be great if Phase One integrated that into their code.
I'd also like to see a professional selective color correction module. Although it's possible to export to a 16-bit TIFF and hack away in Photoshop, I'd like just one less step before any Photoshop work.0
