CE discontinued so let me get this straight
I am getting to the end of my rope with C1's market direction. At this point I am debating about taking the $79 for my five uprade CE offer and calling it quits.
When I first bought it I was told it would support the canon S50 in a couple months. that was over a year ago. I liked the idea of having the same software for my DSLR RAW as my pocket camera. Never happened
When you added the SE version to your line up I thought what were you thinking having all these code streams. SE best match my needs, So I upgraded to it.
I have come to the point I don't trust a word you say. I realy like the software but the busness end is messed up. I am torn I like your software so much would prefer not dump it but I am now shopping for other tools. Just because of this non-sense.
One thing about the upgrade options I would like you to read this and answer with honesty one question.
Summary of Product Path for C1 SE owners:
• All C1 SE owners will get C1 SE 3.6.x for free, and then be
converted to C1 PRO in the Spring at no additional cost. Future
C1 PRO updates will be charged at the same rate as other C1
PRO owners who update their C1 PRO to the latest release.
• C1 SE owners who have the 5 upgrade pack will get C1 SE
3.6.x for free, and then be upgraded to C1 PRO in the spring
at no additional cost, and will also receive 2 additional updates
at no additional cost.
• C1 SE owners who want to upgrade to C1 PRO before the
spring can pay $149 to upgrade to V3.5.x or V3.6.x and will
get the usual 2 free updates, in this case Spring and Fall 2005

upgrade to C1 PRO before the Spring can pay $149 to upgrade
to V3.5.x or V3.6.x and will get 4 free updates, in this case

• C1 SE owners who bought the 5 upgrade pack can get a full
refund of the upgrade pack if they wish to be treated like a C1

Phase One have been reluctantly compelled to discontinue Capture One SE for many reasons. The most important reason seen from a customer point of view is that we do not feel that we can maintain three different versions of Capture One (LE, SE, PRO) satisfactorily. In some cases we feel that we have been forced to compromise on the high level of quality that Capture One is renowned for. This is not acceptable to us or to our loyal customers. As a result, Phase One has decided to discontinue Capture One SE.
Capture One addresses professional photographers, who have a demand for constant innovation and 100% reliability. This is Phase One’s main focus. Capture One PRO must be the best and most innovating RAW converter on the market.
We are aware that the SE upgrade policy is complex. However, this is because Phase One has tried to make the discontinuing of SE as considered as possible for our existing SE customers. It is not easy to discontinue a product, and it may not seem fair either. Nevertheless, Phase One has found it to be a necessary step in order to benefit the majority of our customers in the future.
If you have any questions regarding your own upgrade then you are more than welcome to email info@phaseone.dk
Regarding the promised Canon S50 support, we have gone through all our C1 NEWS newsletters and all our press releases and nowhere have Phase One stated anything about support for Canon S50 in Capture One. We sincerely apologize if someone from Phase One or a Phase One partner or reseller has in anyway lead you to believe that this was true. To avoid misunderstandings Phase One recommends that all customers read our RAW NEWS (previously known as C1 NEWS) and Phase One’s press releases. This information is available on our website.0
