Default Noise Reduction Settings Canon 1DII - is this a bug?
I've always been pleased with the noise reduction available in Capture One. I do own Noise Ninja but haven't used it in years 😊
Some funky results with some reds in some 1DII files (a sort of diffuse glow) led me to check the default settings. I was surprised to find that the colour values do not increase in strict order. These are the defaults:
ISO 50 = 25/31, 100 = 25/35, 200 = 25/35, 400 = 25/45, 800 = 25/52, 1600 = 25/48, 3200 = 25/60
n.b. at ISO 800 the values are out of sequence. I'm seeing this in both 4.7 and 4.8
This matters to me because my work involves processing large volumes of images quickly and I'd really rather not get into tinkering with each files NR settings when the defaults have served me well before. I don't tend to shoot at ISO 800, rather moving between 400 and 1600 and I don't want to have to identify ISO800 files if I can help it.
Any ideas? Thanks
Pete
