Immediate crash on creating new catalog

    Hmm, strange, - have you tried to create the catalog in a different location (default is Pictures - I think) like 'desktop' or documents?
    I tested on my MacBook Pro and can confirm its fine - unfortunately I don't have an iMac...

    Well, the only other cause I can think of is some problem with a .plist in your iMac...

    Sounds like a Phase one ticket is in order to resolve this short of complete un/re-installing the program.
    (I use CleanMyMac3 for such endeavors and had good results so far...)

    Thanks. It seems to have sorted itself out today. I opened a different small catalog this morning that I had made a while ago, as a test, and then tried again to create a new one, and it was OK - after crashing repeatedly yesterday. So hoping all is now well.

    A new catalog can be created without loading an existing catalog. Instead of selecting a recent catalog, click on the "New Catalog" button.

    Yes I know that, but it was crashing every time.
