Image rendering could be quicker?

    I agree with that statement.
C1 is significantly faster for Raw images.

For a 15 Mb Raw, C1 just takes a fraction of a second whereas Media Pro takes about 2 seconds.

Is there some way to improve that?

If there is the same rendering engine, the speed should be the same.

Yea this is a deal breaker for me. Media pro has great potential, but right now the cost in time to switch from Aperture would be huge because of how long rendering takes. Honestly though, C1 is about the slowest converter to use for me (when it comes to making adjustments) so it's not surprising that Media Pro is slow.

I also agree... and so do our programers 😊
As this is the primary release of the software, we will be improving it moving forward and the render speed (I am told) will improve.

In another thread, it mentioned, and I agree, that setting your preferences to use Apple Core Services to render instead of Phase One is significantly faster. My question is... what are the other preference settings that can make image rendering faster. Does anyone have any recommendations here?

Would it be possible to use the Capture One previews? Seems like there is a perfectly good set of previews there, which are not used for much. Why the need to re-render?

Will/Should this have any impact on rendering JPEGs?

Yes, it does. It is significantly faster, but still overall SLOW. It takes a half-second to a second to render a jpeg using Apple instead of Phase One to render. It's SLOW vs. INCREDIBLY SLOW!

As other people have mentioned, previous versions of iView MediaPro and Expression Media didn't have this problem. What a drag! 😡

ahh to have .5 to 1 sec rendering. Hasselblad FFF files which used to render instantly in iview and expression take 3-4 seconds in thumbnail view and a whopping 15 seconds in media view (which of course is lost as soon as you move on to the next image)...and that's on top of the complete loss of color management of FFF files. Similar fun with CR2 files.
