Does C1 V.5 take advantage of multiple core processors? I am in the process of upgrading my MacPro to either a dual or quad core system. However it is my understanding that not all software is design to to take advantage multiple cores.
yes, it does. extremely good. On a new Mac Pro with Snow Leopard it's running really fast.

Great...Is there any noticeable difference between a Quad or Dual Core? Trying to see if its worth the extra $$.

I did no comparision. But the new Mac Pros use multithreading so the number of cores is doubled virtually. And, yes, it works really good.

    Hello

it works very very good; with 8 core and 16 "lines" of a nehalem processor, all logic units are used 100% for a developing batch !!!

but C1 works great and fluently only with 6GB of ram in the computer ! and it is really better with a velociraptor !

Capture One is a very processor intensive and will use everything you can throw at it. In my experience a doubling of the cores in use will have a direct relationship to processing speed. Most limitations that you will start to run into deal with the time it takes for the hard disks to physically write the file. The theoretical core limit of Capture One right now is 32 cores.
