Change location of Catalog file

Hi Everyone!

I can't seem to find a way to change where the Catalog file is saved - I tried preferences, but no luck.

  I'm thinking that if close CO & move the catalog with the finder, then when you reopen CO it will fail to find the catalog but give you the opportunity to navigate to it. Once that is done, it should remember the location.

  Thanks; I'm also trying to ensure that there is a new default save location.

  When you create a new catalog you are given the opportunity to save it where you want.
  That, then, becomes the default location for new catalogs.
  
  With an existing catalog, you can simply move the catalog file where you want.

  Thanks; I contacted support, and they told me you cannot change the default location for a catalog once it is created. Their suggestion was to create a new catalog, set the default location, and then import images from the old catalog into the new catalog.
  
  Sounds like a plan!

  That's an awful plan. That's because the links to folders and images in the catalog database are absolute not relative. Major architectural problem in catalogs.
