auto WB for crop vs full (pre crop) image ?

I am sure that was discussed before, however let me ask the audience again - what is the point for C1 not to allow an option to do Auto WB over the cropped area of the image ? and can we hope that eventually P1 will make an option to allow us to select an rectangular (circular, whatever) area in the image ( with the same WB picker - just press a mouse button and draw a rectantangle, release, sample WB) over which we want C1 to do auto WB (even Adobe finally /and for quite some time already/ after many years opted for this option instead of just clicking to a single point hoping that user will manage to sample the right set of pixels @ given image magnification and WB tool pointer tip.... granted LR originally had at least some magnified view of which pixels were selected for WB - but ACR didn't... ).
