all my photos are now un-editable
I switched from Window XP 32 to Windows 7 64 and now all my photos are un-editable. With the little "eye" icon in the bottom right hand side.
The only way I can edit them is the go into the containing folder and delete the Capture Ones folder. But that erases all the edits I have done. I there another way?

When it gives you the eye, the location is read-only. It is probably a Windows permissions issue. You did not gave any specifics about your upgrade process (new computer, new disk, in-place upgrade) but it is safe to assume your current user account does not have sufficient (write & read) access to the files. Try to fix the permissions through the top-folder properties or copy the files to a location that is in the user's default profile folders (Documents, Pictures etc.) and back to its original place which you clean first. 0
