D7000
6.0.1, and still no D7000 tethered capabilities, or am I doing something wrong?

We're working on it.
Until we can provide it however, just tether with Nikon software and use the Hot Folder option in C1.0 -
Thanks Drew.
Hopefully soon...0 -
Any updates on tethered support for this camera? 0 -
D7000 tethering please. I don't want to have to purchase the Nikon software. I'll never use it once the D7000 is tether-able. Do you folks need someone to beta test it? I'm volunteering... 😄 0 -
Why would it say it supports Nikon D7000 and then does not allow tethering ? as of 2-15-11
FAIL0 -
I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree w/ NN216538UL, 6.1.1, and still no D7000 tethering. Its been out since October. I understand everyone working on the new software update, and the new backs, but when can we expect this to happen?
I have a shoot tomorrow and I would have loved being able to shoot tethered. I got excited when I saw I had an update. I guess I'm shooting to the card again. ☹️

As listed in the release notes, we have RAW file support for the D7000 but not tethered support. In order to support the D7000 it must be supported in the SDK from Nikon. In other words we can support raw files as soon as a camera hits the market, but for tethered support we have to wait for the manufacturer to release an updated SDK... this frequently happens a few months after a camera release cycle.0 -
Thanks for the detailed report Jon, but could you please tell us what an SDK is.

Thanks
Short for Software Development Kit. It contains the software tools that allow 3rd party developers to support the manufacturer's hardware, in this case Nikon's.0 -
Hmmm. Okay I guess its time to light a fire under Nikon then.
I'll head the their site next and log into my account to ask them.
Thanks!

The SDK for the D7000 is located here: https://sdk.nikonimaging.com/apply/
It has been out since December 21, 2010.

Answer/Reply not good enough.
The ability to open RAW files in my opinion in not FULLY SUPPORTED. Maybe it should be support with an asterisk or something. Tethering is the only reason a Nikon owner would purchase.
is tethering supported on Canon's newest camera? is there some brand favoritism ? just sayin seeing as how the SDK has been available via) Vic10 -
Both Release note and knowledge base article list which cameras that is supported for tethered shooting

While waiting I am pretty sure you can use this workaround for D2X

It should work do D7000 as well.0 -

YES, IT WORKS! 😉 😁 🤓
Instead of copying XModule.bundle, just copy and install ALL bundle files.
Macbook Pro 13", 2.4 Ghz, 4Gb ram, OSX 10.6.6

Yes, it does work that way. I also loaded all of the bundle files.
As far as the simplicity, I'm wondering why this wasn't mentioned earlier. Just knowing the simple work around would have saved me probably 6 or 7 hours of work over the last couple of weeks, without having to go through the brain damage of running two different softwares at the same time. Was this just realized by your software engineers, or was this a known workaround for non-supported Nikons for awhile?
Also, in looking at the file names in both software folders, they're the same. Is updating software as simple as moving files into the correct folder? If so, why wasn't this done in December when the SDK was released? Am I missing something here?
I love this software, and have convinced many to use it for their work flow. I know that Nikon isn't calling this a pro body, but I know many pros who are using it. Shouldn't this be taken into account when updating software?
Thanks for the work around, it seems to be working.

Hi:
I think it is a "rights" use matter. IMHO this workaround is for D2X, but we users, at our own risk, can use it with other files.
Also, the files are different. Nikon ad a file named "somethink4.bundle". As I don´t kwow if its just for the D7000, that´s why I copy paste all of them.
Just my 2 cents.0 -
Hi All,
I'm a newbie to capture one, so apologies if this seems an ill-informed question.
I've just updated to 6.3.2, and my D7000 isn't tethering to C1. ("No Camera Connected" is the status under the Camera module).
I'm connecting via USB (provided one metre cable), straight to my MacBook Pro (no hubs or boosters).
I understand that tethered support for the D7000 is a part of 6.2.3, yet - unless I'm missing something obvious - it won't even recognise the camera as being plugged in, let alone actually capture.
I've tried every possible combination of connect -> lanch and visa-versa, and have disabled any other software from automatically connecting to the camera. Should I also remove the cards?
Any help would be appreciated.

May I know if by now Capture One can tether Nikon D7000? I emailed PhaseOne support, and I was told that Capture One can now tether Nikon D7000. Is it true? 0 -

Hopefully a D7000 tethering user can give you the assurance you're after, although I am a bit surprised that a confirmation from Phase One support does not seems to be sufficient.
The easiest route in my book is that you look into the release notes of the latest version (6.4.4). There you can always find that kind of information.0
