Round Trip Issues 8.2.2
Using "edit with" creates a new tif then stops any further progress. trying to edit with Pixelmator or AffinityPro Beta or PhotoShop CS5.
"Open with" functions correctly.
I am tempted to write "all of a sudden it stopped working" but the phrase sounds so lame.I am not aware that any settings have been changed. Any suggestions?

What do you mean when you say CO "stopped working"? Did it hang? Did the computer hang? If CO "hung" did it respond after you finished editing the external tiff? Is the problem repeatable? Or did it only happen once? 0 -
Upon clicking "edit with", a brief (2-3 sec) spinning wheel, creation of .tif thumbnail, then nothing. CO is supposed to cause the external editor to open. Even if the editor is already open, no image is loaded in the editor. This function has worked previously, so I am wondering if I have made an unknown setting change. mY images are referenced, and I have tried with several different images, both NEF (Nikon) and tif files. 0 -

Based on what you are saying it appears that the launch of the external editor is failing. Since you apparently are not getting any kind of error message (I assume. You did not mention an error message) I would think the execute call itself just failed. It has been my experience that the main issue with that is that something in the OS is failing and my immediate response is to reboot the computer.
If you have already done that and the problem still exists, then I would try using different editors to see if the problem is related to a single editor or to every editor that you can use. If all are failing, and if the reboot (both hot and cold) also do not fix the issue, I would think that the next step would be to reset or uninstall/reinstall CO. But, if all is failing, I would wait for other responses before I took such a drastic action as uninstalling and reinstalling CO. Perhaps someone else has a better idea.0 -
Got the Round rip to work. The problem lies in the drop down list to select the external editor. Seems that the list is not kept up-to-date, so my solution was to select "Other" and from the Finder menu select the editing program.
Not sure how to refresh the CO list.
Mike - thanks for your attention.

Would have been better if I had an answer that helped ... 😕
But it does make a sort of sense now. You probably updated the new Affinity Photo Beta and your editor list was pointing to the older one. Although it is odd because I have not seen this and I do the same thing ... In any case I am glad to hear that you have things working now.0
