Web Contact Sheet....
I *think* I'm doing this correctly, I just want to make sure before I waste hours on the wrong thing.😊
I have thousands of photos of dog agility. There are different classes, Ex: Tunnelers, Weavers, Jumpers, etc...
I bought a domain name to put the pictures on, then the owners or whoever is interested can go on the site, look at the pictures, and email me to let me know what pictures they would want on a CD.
Before each class I took a picture of a card with the class name on it to serve as sort of a "marker" so all the pictures aren't just in one big folder.
Here's the procedure I used for a sort of test run. I want to make sure I"m doing it correctly before I spend time doing several thousand photos.
1. I selected a class I shot today (about 30 photos)
2. I went to File->Make Web Contact Sheet
3. It looked like it was doing something, but I put in the parameters anyway, then clicked "Process:"
4. It seemed like it worked right, I had a web page of just the class I selected.
-I was wondering how to watermark the pictures, but it seems like someone can't copy them anyway. I tried right clicking->Copy, then opened Word and tried to Paste, but there was nothing.
-My plan is to make a web site, I'll have a front page with an explanation, pricing, etc. Then I'll have a bunch of sub-pages: Photo albums.
I have a question.
1. Does this seem like an efficient way to do what I want? If not, what might be a better way.
I'm doing this as a fundraiser for my agility club, it's not like I'm planning on making a living from the pictures.

I have MS Frontpage 2003. I was thinking that I could make a web site, with the .index page the home page, then change the name of the .index file that C1 makes to some other text, then put the C1 Web Contact Sheet into a sub folder, etc.
It doesn't seem that simple though, or if it is I've forgotten how. Any asisstance would be appreciated.

Sadly, if you're talking about building a whole web site, it isn't that simple. There are tools to help you, but you do need to understand how HTML (and probably JavaScript and CSS) work so that you can use the tools effectively. The learning process is usually rather interactive, and can be quite rewarding.
C1's gallery generation feature is good for its intended purpose, but rather too limited for what you will require. A number of DAM applications and Image Browsers (such as IMatch and BreezeBrowser) offer rather better facilities, as does Photoshop. The usual idea, as you suggested, is to put each gallery with its images in its own folder, and link to it directly or indirectly from the home page (which you have to write individually). It's usually best to mirror your site exactly when you upload it, and to use relative rather than absolute references in your links to ensure that what works on your own machine also works when it's online.
Having the images online is only part of the battle. If you want to implement an ordering system, you will need to consider a number of complex issues. You might care to look at Peter Berger's EOS template (nothing to do with Canon!), details of which are here, to understand the implications.

Thank you David! I'll read through your pointers. Right now I"m making "web contact sheets" in C1, of the hundreds of pictures I"ve taken of dog agility since May.

The last thing I'd want to do is dampen your enthusiasm, but this is exactly what the gallery generators in BreezeBrowser Pro and other applications do when they build the gallery. They also adjust the generated copies for web display, and allow you to specify things like watermarks.
I can't speak of other generators, because I don't use them, but download a 30 day trial of BreezeBrowser Pro from www.breezesys.com, and you'll see what I'm getting at.

It's pretty much what I want. I don't need anything fancy like a storefront. But I can't remember how I did it.☹️

I downloaded the trial of BB pro, I made a test gallery generator. I've been reading the Help files to learn about the different options and parameters.
But it really (with the exception of more parameters) doesn't seem that different than C1's Web Contact sheets.
What I thought it did was do a full blown website just from the pictures. No worries, though, I'm going to figure out how I made my other websites in FP 03 and probably do it that way. It's been 4 years since I built them and a lot of the details have been forgotten by me.
