Can't see or open folders
I'm completely stumped. I own and use CO pro version 7.
Yesterday I installed a new motherboard and did a clean install of Windows 7. I then downloaded CO 7 and activated it.
I don't understand or use sessions or catalogs. I simply import files (with another program) and then go to a photo folder and open it in CO.
With CO now, I don't see all the drives and the drive with my photo folders shows up with no folders at all. I can confirm there are a lot of folders on that drive using Windows Explorer.
How do I see and open folders?

Is it an external drive you are referring to? 0 -
No, there are two internal drives that I was using just before I changed the motherboard. Now neither one shows in CO even though they both show in Windows Explorer of Windows 7.

In Library, the first drop down list at the top, choose Session. I got a similar problem because after installling CO7 it was set to Catalog. May be you have another problem, but it is worth to check out. 0 -
I have processed some files and when I want to choose where to put them, I can navigate to a "missing" drive. There I can see all the folders on the drive.
There's nothing in the Library drop down that seems to help. Thanks for the reply.
So I still can't select folders to work on.0 -
Hi again!
Here is the reply I got after I contacted the support because my folders were not visible in library, but again may be you have a variant of the same problem:
Dear Customer,
Under Library select session instead of catalog and you will see your folders.
Another option - from top menu-->file-->new session click OK and your are done.

New session worked! I have the folder hierarchy.
While I have found Windows 8 unfathomable and counter intuitive, Capture One may have surpassed even that program.
Thank you for your help. I surely needed it.

I am so grateful.
I am doing so well again!

Thank goodness I found this link, I have been using Capture One for years in addition to Lightroom but when 7 came out and seemed to oblige me to have yet another catalogue on my system I gave up on it. I have regretted that as I prefer it in many ways to Lightroom but Lightroom has some advantages such as direct access to my smugmug account. Using sessions however I can now use 7 just like I did 4, 5 and 6 to work on individual files that can be best processed in Capture-One - I shall buy my upgrade from 6 to 7 straight away. 😄 0
