Odd Photo EXIF behavior for downloaded/Photoshopped images

The following behavior of certain entries in the Photo Exif info sidebar in EM2 is really odd.

EM2-displayed Photo Exif information for a file downloaded from my 5DMK-II includes "lens" info (e.g., 24-105 mm) and "Light Source" info (e.g., Auto) but not Focus Distance.

If I open this file in Photoshop CS5, operate on it and save it as a .jpg, the EM2-dispayed Photo Exif information now includes the Focus Distance but the Lens and Light Source Exif info are missing in the EM2 Photo Exif sidebar.

How can I fix EM2 and CS5 so I get all of the Exif info in the EM2 sidebar for both downloaded files and photoshopped files?

  I should have added that EM-2 is running on a MacBook Pro, 10.5.8 Bob S.
