Newbie needing help with cloning
I've watched the YouTube tutorial on cloning & healing, and searched the help section of C1, but can't find an answer to my problem. It probably seems basic to all the pro users out there, but I'm stuck. I think my biggest issue is I've never used photo editing software of this calibre.
I've created a clone layer (I want to remove two people in the distance in an image), I've created a mask, I've set the source point... but how do I actually remove what I'm trying to remove? I know this sounds dumb, but I can't figure out how to actually get the clone to work. Watching the YouTube tutorial the repair happens as it's been worked on, but this doesn't happen for me. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?

this works for me:
in the layers tab (little brush icon) under the 'local adjustments' panel, click and hold the plus sign and select clone layer.
use the cross-hair brush to paint over the area of the image you want to erase. (you can change the intensity of the brush, the fuzzy edges of the brush, and its size, by clicking on the little slider icon to bring up a brush adjustment panel).
you should now have two circles - one over the area you've just brushed, and another connected to it by an arrow.
move the second circle to the area of the image you want to clone and replace the brushed area.
you can also move/adjust the positioning of the brushed area by clicking the little circle at the arrowhead.
the results should show up immediately.
it can be a little tricky at first, but with a little trial and error, practice and skill, the results are practically seamless.0 -
Thanks, I'll give it a try 😊 0
