Applying Multiple Keywords

I'm stuck: I'm trying to apply multiple keywords to images but can't get it to work not matter what I do. If I select multiple images in a catalog, open the keyword dialog and enter a keyword, it only gets applied to the specific images that is selected, not all.

Is anyone getting this to work? If so, what am I missing?

  Try this link it has instructions on how to copy keywords or drag and drop images onto keywords.

  I'm Windows not Mac but your question prompted me to check - I seem to recall that it has been mentioned that the application of the keywords (re-written for V8 to deal with hierarchical and stuff) should allow for KW entry to apply to all selected images at time of KW application but does not seem to work.
  
  My testing earlier suggests that the second option, to add the KWs to one image and the copy and apply to the rest via the KW entry tool, seems not to work either. However it does work using the full Image Adjustment Copy and Apply via the clipboard where one can specify which adjustments are to be used.
  
  The other alternative which may or may not be useful in your situation without adding too much time to the task would be to add the KWs to at least one image thus making them available and then drag and drop you selection of images to each KW in turn in the Keywords section of the Filters tool (By default found in the Library Tab). That seems to work rather well in V8. In V7 it was a bit annoying because you needed some care to avoid setting duplicate KWs and thus getting the count awry. V8 seems to deal with that without problems.
  
  I should probably add that I am using Sessions rather than catalogs. Also V8.0 - I have not yet applied the 8.0.1 update.

  Update: I have now installed the 8.0.1 update and although KW entry does not update multiple files if multiple files are selected the copy from one file to all selected does now work.
