trouble with profiling - does not match Breezebrowser
I haven't had trouble with color balance since I learned how to apply monitor and camera profiles. But lately 5D files are looking pretty greenish compared to the same file processed in BB. Looking at both the before and after conversion in both programs, the C1 version is about 5-10CC green. What am I missing?
C1 camera product 5D
C1 camera profile 5D
C1 Output, Web and Proof destination are sRGB
C1 Monitor profile is default
BB Default monitor profile enabled, there is no way to add a camera profile in BB.
Also, the 5D Generic profile and 40D Generic V2 in C1 look exactly the same on a 5D file, shouldn't they be different?
Using C1 v3.7.8.231
thanks, roger

are you sure that color management in C1 is enabled?

yes, thanks, color management is enabled. the 40D and 5D profiles are the only 2 that look the same, I can see the color differences as i apply different profiles to the image. i wonder if i have a bad 5D profile? its the only one i have and it came with C1. is this the same 5D profile everyone else is using? skin tones are just yuck whereas the skin tones in BB look great. 0 -
Hi, fotoflo. We had the beginnings of a discussion on the BB Pro forum, and I see you got here first.
In relation to your specific profile problem, I can offer only limited help, partly because I am a C1 v4 user, and partly because, since I started using C1, my portrait work in RAW has all been done with my 30D rather than my 5D. But, as other users of this forum know better than I, there are plenty of third party C1 profiles on offer. For example, this link (which may or may not be helpful to you), claims to offer a profile that fixes what seems to be your specific problem. $17.95 does not seem to be a huge amount of money to pay. I doubt that you'll get a fix out of Phase One.
As I said on the BB Pro forum, I don't think that trying to match the results of one converter in another is an easy or useful exercise. It's much better to get the best out of each converter in its own right; on a good day you will get what are, in effect, different images, each of which is valid in its own terms.

the ETC Lo-Sat profile seems to cleaned up some of the green, thanks for the link. 0
