Normalize tool
Why isn’t Normalize working?
I have a picture with a localized color contamination. Using the Basic setting under the Color editor and masking the contaminated area I am able to get close, but I am unable to get the colors to match.
I am using C1, 20.1.1. I select Normalize (picker tool) and sample a spot away from the contaminated area. I see that the sampled (desired) color values are:
RGB: 40, 44, 40 & HSB: 120, 9.1%, 17.3%
When I sample a spot in the contaminated area, I see the following color values:
RGB: 35, 43, 27 & HSB: 90, 37.2%, 16.9%
I then go back to the earlier mask that I created for the contaminated area and try to apply the desired color to the masked area. I am unable to get the color values in the contaminated area to match the sampled spot.

Hi Stanley,
Unfortunately, the Normalize tool can't be used with layers. It would be great if it could, indeed, but I don't know if it is technically possible. Maybe an improvement for a future release ? You can submit a feature request, however.

I might be wrong but I don't think the Normalise tool is intended to make the type of correction you are hoping to achieve.

Thank you. I Hope it will be a feature in a future update.
