I am using C1 PRO 3.7.6 and the program has always taken a very long time to close when I exit.

Within the last week, I too am getting the exact same Runtime error that you are getting - not every time I close the programs but periodically.

I am running XP Pro with a 2.8 GHz processor and 2 Gb of RAM.

Hope someone has some information on this.

I've only had this error appear (sporatically) since installing CS3 under XP...it does not appear to affect changes. That is the only software change I've made (other than Windows updates), and since it's not caused a problem for me, I've ignored it.....if you need to track it down...maybe look at CS3 and scripting, or check the date on the runtime library file....

Also....make sure if you're using windows...that your HDs aren't indexing...slows COne to a crawl whan that happens. Look under properties for the HDs you're using....turn "Disk Indexing" off, and apply to all folders and subfolders....

    Hi John;

I do have CS3 installed - it's strange that CS3 may cause an error with C1 Pro. Thanks for mentioning the Disk Indexing. I have it set to ON. I am turning it OFF as I type this on my C1 machines.

As always, thanks for your great help.

Hey guys thanks for your input! I’ve sent this as an e-mail to Phase One tech support, but thus far the issue is on ignore there too. Some times Phase One will at least reply to messages and scold you for asking the question, I can’t even get that. I guess this is my $500.00 hard at work for me. ❓

I am having this issue on both of my machines, one of which is still running PS CS2, I do have indexing off on both machines. I am not having any issues with the performance of CS3, or CS2, nor any error messages. I don’t know why CS3 would be effecting C1Pro, but I did look into it and spent about 40 min on the phone with adobe today (Something I can’t do with Phase One). I even completely uninstalled CS3, and all prefs, and reinstalled EVERYTHING today. No resolve. Adobe had me typing in all kinds of strange key commands in different areas of CS3, but as nothing is “wrong†with CS3, Adobe Support was not able to finds any link to the issues. Any other advice? For me the C1Pro error is effecting my settings. This has been my work flow. Import the raw files, use the single layer tagging tool, adjust images in C1Pro, save and archive the files to a folder, export and quit. Several min’s after I quit C1Pro it crashes before it can finish writing the files. The next time I open the folder my changes are not accounted for. Even after importing the archive settings. Ironically, even though my changes are not accounted for, the files that I tag remain tagged.

Thanks Bill, and John for your input. If you have any other suggestions please toss them out there. This is a frustrating issue for me. I hope to fix this without having to wait for the infamous V4?

I've posted this question before, but got no answer. I still have the crashing from time to time, but only a couple times have my adjustments been reset. I know this is a stupid bad suggestion, but capture one work good if you don't open to many files at a time. So you take 600 images, and only you open 200 at a time. I know that's no good, but I don't think capture one can handle to much or it will crash for me. And it always takes a long time to close it. If I archive the photo like you say, then it crashes. better to just save all then it should not crash down. Best of luck.

Have you searched for other photo sites where they are capture one topic? They are out there, and in some cases more helpful then this site. I think captureone is not a popular program as others. Also try posting your topic on those site so people can see what youare saying. There is information available in captureone, and they don’t care what you say about it. Sometime I use lightroom, very slow, but it always work. I hope you fix it, and please tell how you did it. Thank you.

I use new laptop from hp.

    giepers -

Did you actually create a support case with Phase One? Over the years I have created several support cased with Phase One through their website and they have always respond within a day or so - on rare occasions maybe two days and sometimes same day. It also depends on the time of day you create or update the support case as as we are in the States and the support people for Phase One are in Denmark - much different time zone.

    - Bill yup, sure did.

update runtime lib & windows update?
    Are you running SP2?
Reinstall C1, and some additional filler.

I pretty much addressed these silly answers in my initial post. Phaseone support, yeee hawwww! Let's all shoot from the hip.

    - Classicphotog, thanks for the reply, I believe the software should handle however many images I tell it to open, breaking up a shoot is not a good solution for me. As far as other site I am a member of a couple other forums and this string is posted in those forums, but no solution has been found yet.
