JPEGs exported from Capture One 4 - total lack of sharpness
I just exported 95 JPEGs from Capture One 4.1.1 (most modern Tiger compatible version).
It's like the sharpness has gone, and they are all out of focus.
I DID NOT CHECK "disable sharpening".
I compared the JPEGs created by Capture One to JPEGS created by DPP: The DPP created JPEGs are excellent, the Capture One JPEGs are not useable for professional proof sheets.
This is such a mess. I'm supposed to put JPEGs on the web today but I can't because the way Capture One processes JPEGs looks like I have a malfunctioning autofocus.
Does anybody have a resolution to this problem?
Thanks.

While you wait for a solution into COne (I don't have the same issue as you …)
You may batch your exported files with Light Room 2 with sharpening only
Just a thought…0 -
Earlier versions of C1 4 applied sharpening incorrectly on low res files and in such a way that it did not mach the viewer. This has been fixed for some time in subsequent releases (though they require OSX 10.5). 0 -
Well, I'll have to wait for Snow Leopard then.
That's my next OS upgrade. 3 months to go.
Until then I'll do some sharpening on the JPEGs using an old copy of Lightroom 1.41 (which I only use for web gallery creation) to add some crude Lightroom sharpening.
PS: has the unuseable proof gallery of CO 4.1.1 been improved as well in later updates?
Then I could finally sell my Lightroom copy.0 -

Slightly off the topic, but I'll assume you have an Intel Mac (Snow Leopard does not support G5/G4 Macs). If not you better buy a copy of Leopard as long they are available.0
