Cannot see my TIFF files
I am currently using Capture One Pro 3.7.3
My problem is that I can´t access my TIFF files no matter where I keep them.
No problem with RAW and JPEG!
The message I get is \"This collection is empty\" although there are tif-files in the folder \"Develops\".
The same message appears no matter where the TIFF-files are.
☹️

C1 does not view TIF files, only RAW and JPG files so this is by design that you can not see TIF files. 0 -

There must be a very good reason to not show TIF files as I convert my RAW files to TIF.
Am I the only one in the world who is doing this? Or have I missed something?0 -
C One is used to convert raw files to tifs so that you can carry out manipulation, retouching, layering, sharpening, printing, whatever, in another program such as Photoshop, Qimage, etc., which is where you should be opening your Tifs from the \"Develops\" folder.
You can't carry out most of the above actions in C One, it's there primarily as a raw image processor, (and a damned good one, at that) nothing more.
That's why it wont \"see\" tifs.
It really is a two program exercise (unless you want to use Photoshop CS with it's associated \"Camera Raw\" processor).
I think that's the only point you're missing.0 -
Thanks John for your prompt reply.
However it doesn´t explain why you can see JPEG files and not TIF´s.
Or does it?
Do you never manipulate JPEG´s?
I think the same logic goes for JPEG´s as well as TIF´s.
Anyway I am very happy with C One.
But why shouldn´t an excellent software get even better?0 -
svehag,
Capture One will browse JPEGs on the Windows platform and both JPEGs and TIFFs on the Mac platform.
As Mr. Kirby states, Capture One is used for RAW file workflow only.
That said, there have been quite a few Feature Requests to allow some manipulation of other file formats.
Since Phase One has a history of being quite responsive to photographer's reqests, this may very well come with 4.0, but nothing Official has been announced to date.
Sincerely,
