Selecting multiple images

Hi, I'm wanting to export multiple images from an album. I have tried 'select all' and also manually selecting all of the images. I've enabled the recipe Im wanting to use in the output tab but when actioning, it only processes the first image. What am I doing wrong?

  You need to toggle the "Edit all Selected Variants" option on.
  
  Either from the Edit menu, or using the toolbar icon that looks like three rectangles in a stack.

  I wonder why one would not want to apply an action to all having selected them?

  An example:
  Let's assume you have 2 images side by side. The unadjusted original and an already adjusted variant you are working on.
  The unadjusted original would no longer be an unadjusted original, right?
  
  Another one:
  You have an older, adjusted image side by side with a new one. And you want to give the new one the look the old one has.
  How to match them when both change?
  
  Good that there is a button to turn it on or off.
