D3S not writing to card

A possible new convert to CO mentioned that his Nikon D3S is not writing to the CF card while tethered to CO 7.x. This must be a setting on the D3S correct? (This was a casual conversation, I have not seen his camera or computer.)

If so can someone direct me to the setting such that files will both write to the CF card and send them down the pipe to his computer.

  Hi Tim,
  
  There is no setting. When tethering to CO7 the images are not stored on the card, but on the computer only.

  I can confirm this, it's a generic thing, but i use CO7 with a D3s.
