Tethering with mirror lock-up?
Dear experts,
I plan to digitize my old slides to have the best of them digitally archived. I use a tripod and a small light board to shoot the slides. To avoid camera shake I must enable the camera's mirror lock-up function.
Now, having mirror lock-up enabled at the camera, CO 7.x still shoots immediately after pressing the shoot button. I couldn't find any way to shoot with mirror lock-up in CO 7.x.
I use a Canon 5D Mark II. With the EOS Utility there's no problem. Just press the virtual shutter button twice (same seconds pausing) and I get a very sharp picture.
So my question - is CO 8.x able to shoot with mirror lock-up?
Thanks for any help
Matthias

I'll have to give this a try the next time I have the kit set up, but given that a good bit of functionality was added for canon & nikon DSLRs related to shooting in live view recently I'd say there is at least a chance.
Although if you're curious, you might as well download the CO v8 trial version to double check.
Of course the simple solution, honestly, is just to use a cable release - and you can get one for about $20 on amazon or ebay if you don't mind getting an off brand. I've had good luck with Opteka (and I like their intervalometer much better than canon's).
Good luck!0 -
I shoot a D800 so I can't be sure this will work for you. In version 8.3, one can shoot an image while in Live View.
So simply set up, turn on Live View. Set your focus aperture and your shutter speed and then press the big release button. The camera remains with mirror up and shoots the picture.0 -
Shooting direct from live view also works for Canon. It was (and is) one of the new features of CO8.
More about what is new in CO8 can be found here: http://imagealchemist.net/capture-one-pro-8-review/0
