and another thing. say i have a folder of shots and i've made different adjustments for different images and now i want to reset all of the images in that group to it original state. now when i select all and right click to choose reset adjustments it is greyed out. or sometimes it will again only reset the single image that is highlighted eventhough i've selected all of them.

    Hi Ed,

We have some great tutorials available on our website at http://www.phaseone.com/4/ in Go for Pro.

Now, if you want to adjust say exposure and contrast on a group of images, you can do it is just as many clicks as 3.7.9.

-First, just make sure Edit primary only is OFF (the icon on your toolbar should be GREY)

    1. Select the images.
    2. Make Adjustments.
    3. Click Copy Adjustments on the toolbar.
    4. Click Paste adjustments (right next to Copy)

Now as for resetting all the selected images, this is a bit complicated:
    1. Select images.
    2. Reset one.
    3. Choose Select all in the local tool menu for the Adjustment Clipboard.
    4. Click Apply

OR... In the local tool menu for the adjustment clipboard, uncheck Auto select Adjusted. this way all settings are copied instead of just the changes that have been made. Then you can reset a group of images with the regular copy/paste and not have to go to the Clipboard tab.

    Jon,

Regarding resetting a selection of images, what happened to the Reset command from the Adjustments menu (Cmd+R)? Wouldn't that be an quicker and easier way? I think it is still working on a selection, but now in 4.6 without the Shift key modifier.
    1. Select images
    2. Check the Edit Primary Variant if OFF (grey)
    3. Reset (Cmd+R)
    Done.

    Hi Paul,

You are correct... I only looked at the Right Click on thumbnail Reset option. Command+R is MUCH faster.

Thanks for your replys. I did find that I was able to make adjustment on groups of images by using the tool bar icons but for some reason it doesn't work when i right click and select copy/apply from the contextual menu. i find this is a much faster way to work than mousing up to the toolbar. is there some reason why the contextual menu commands for copy/apply adjustments doesn't work on multiple images? and i should be able to reset all by selecting the images and right clicking to select reset adjustments from the contextual menu. maybe this is a bug?

This is not really a bug, functions in the contextual menu are designed to work only on the image that is being clicked on. These functions correspond to the adjustment cursers like the copy/apply, rotate, trash, etc that are available in center of the toolbar. These cursers work by clicking on the image or thumbnail so you can quickly go through your images to apply adjustment by just clicking on the thumbnails you want to change.

I think the best option for you would be to use the keyboard shortcut Command+Shift+V for apply settings as that works with the menubar and will apply to all.

I think if you asked working professionals it would be great to have the same functionality through the contextual menu. it should operate the same wether you have one or more than one image selected. the old way in 3.7 of just selecting images and having them update as you moved a slider or even better use the keyboard to adjust exposure contrast, etc. was the best.

Also - I don't know about other people but since C1-4 was delayed so long I've had to explore other alternatives like Lightroom and Leaf. (as a digital tech in NYC) So that's alot of software to learn. It would have been great if phase one kept a much more similar workflow to 3.7 so long time capture one users can get right back into the program. but unfortunately i find other applications much easier to use. i want capture one to be my only capture program (not a browser like lightroom). so i welcome the possibility of phase one listening to its core users and bring back functionality we had in 3.7 I would be happy to give more feedback.

A changed camera profile on the primary variant isn't moving to the others, is this a bug or a feature? How do you apply it to multiple variants?

    Thanks,
    Dave

It might help helping you if you could be more specific on what actions you performed, whether you are on CO 4.6 and if you do, the status of the Edit Primary Variant Only toggle and whether or not you are successful in apply a changed camera profile to a single variant.

4.6 all other adjustments are moving, yes edit primary variant only is off obviously.

OK, clear, next step is to check for the Autoselect Adjusted option. You find this when you go to the Adjustments tool tab. In the title bar of Adjustment Clipboard there is a small triangular shape at the right, click to open and make sure that the Autoselect Adjusted option is checked.

Now, copy adjustments again to the clipboard (Sh+Cmd+C) and see whether Camera Profile is checked in the list on the clipboard.

Thanks Paul, I'll double check next week but I think I saw the profile checked on the tick list and I still wound up setting it on each shot individually, I really don't think it was behaving properly.

I'm seeing the same thing - Camera Profile won't change using Apply Adjustments. Other stuff updates, just not the profile. It's ticked in the list but nothing changes, old generic profile still appears in the Base Characteristics.

Yup, ICC profile does not update.

Any chance of being more specific on which profile you try to copy to multiple images? It is known for B&W profiles (and there is a workaround for that through renaming). Camera related profiles (branded for a brand & model) should not be a problem. Or is it? Just a 'yes me too' does not reveal much.

Paul, I tried pasting a camera specific profile without success.

Thanks Henry, which one? I want to try it too. Just love bugs! 😉

I was trying to replace the generic DNG profile with the Canon 5D Mark 2 profile. It was a DNG fie I was working on, maybe that's the issue, C1s DNG 'compatibility' is woeful.

Yes, that's the issue or the bug (copying the DNG profile, which is not camera specific). Nothing to do with DNG compatibility in my book, but that's me.
