Import creates unwanted variants
So I have been having this issue for a while, I was wondering if other people had it too.
Capture One is a mess in many ways, on Windows and on Mac, and the latest issue is that, whenever I import pictures in Capture one, it messes up the white balance and creates variants. The pictures are straight from the camera, so this is very weird. Attached is a screenshot to show what it looks like.
Does anybody have the same issue?

Well you probably set some unwanted option in the import dialogue. 0 -
Is that half a screen shot (or less?) .
On the basis of what is visible it's a but difficult to make any assessment but the file numbering looks like something that might happen if you have imported the same image twice.
Let's consider that as a starting point. Is that possible from your import work flow??

Exactly the same issue here in W7 64x - has become a standard issue now compounded by the trash/ delete issue which includes showing -number image counts: a complete mess -can't use it any more for importing (referenced images (Raw and JPG and MOV all on external HDD, no sidecar created)
I have not seen this consistent issue until 10x version (includes going back as far as 7x)
.... so big bug)

This still occurs in a W7 64x environment -I notice that C1P 10.1.2.23 - latest is creating the second Variant as a "Capture 8" !!!! rendered image using a profile of ICC Profile: Jpeg File neutral with Curve: Linear response ! (instead of Canon EOS 7D mk II or 70d .. or any other of the CR2 RAW files from Canon Recent Models - White balance instead of shot is "custom"! with a tint of -41.1!!! vs: White Balance: shot and tint @ -1.3
A mess - no switches on import are enable, OCL is off; no sidecar etc... Images at: absolute location not in catalogue..
I think there is something weird going on - this occurs for RAWs and also the Lens information on the variant is completely messed up the 8-15mm Canon lens in the "bad variant" will show 85mm VS 11mm actually shot, with incorrect F stop showing in metadata ...
All this since around the 2nd/3rd v10x release....
What is different?, What has changed (nothing at my end...)
Frustrated...

David,
My guess would be that somewhere there is old information around that relates to the same file names as are currently being imported and it is being used thus creating your strange results.
Something in the temp files cache for example - or maybe even the memory card? Or do you always copy from card to disk before importing?
Alternatively there may be some sort of bad index link in the catalogue database that is causing confusion.
Have you tried a verification process on the catalogue?
What happens if you set up a new catalogue as a test? Some problem or not?
Have you looking at the log files to see if there are any clues there?
Have you created a Support Case with Phase one to seek technical help?
