I find that the crop tool usually remembers the last setting I used, rather than defaulting to Unconstrained.

    Hi Alveric,

    I'm a C1 Pro 8.2 user on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
It seems only 'Original' can't be preserved as default. When I choose 'Unconstrained', 'Output', '1x1', '2x3', '3x4', '4x5', '7x10', or new added preset, it's preserved. But when I choose 'Original', it's back to 'Unconstrained' after restart CO.

So, add your own 'Original' preset and select it. Then it will be preserved as default.
This is my workaround. I added a preset below for my Nikon D810 photos.
    Preset name: D810 Original
    Aspect retio: 7360x4912

According to the online manual, 'Original' should also be preserved, but it doesn't work.

To Alveric and olvr: While I got the message that C1 may not hold "Original" as default, I don't see why you don't let it simply to 2:3 which is the original ratio, isn't it? The ratio setting doesn't change the pixel count.

    Hi Michael11,

It's because the aspect ratio of D810 is not exact 2:3.
D810 original image size is 4912x7360, and the ratio is 2:2.996742671...

If you have one or more active Output Recipes you might want to check their definitions too. Also whether the Lens Correction is in some way influencing what you are seeing.

    To olvr:
Do you notice any ratio change or change in the number of pixels on import? I'm only getting changes when I start to make changes on the image like rotation, crop etc. Eventually the pixel number changes as a result of a lens correction profile being applied on the RAW data. But even in this case the "corrected" pixel number seems to me always increasing a bit so that after correction applied the full size image equals the original pixel count.

    Hi Michael11,

    > Do you notice any ratio change or change in the number of pixels on import?

    No. I don't think so.

    > I'm only getting changes when I start to make changes on the image like rotation, crop etc.

Me too. I think it's normal behavior.

I'm sorry I don't know what the point of your question is. I just made 'D810 Original' preset because I want to keep the original aspect ratio after crop. It produces the exact same result as 'Original' crop, and it can be preserved as default. '2x3'(2:3) crop makes different result for D810 photos, though the difference is very small.

    e.g.
    Image size
    - after 'Original'/'D810 Original' crop: 6860x4578 px
    - after '2x3' crop: 6860x4573 px

If C1 Pro 8.2 can hold 'Original' as default, it's the best because I don't need to care about the aspect ratio of each camera.
