hardware acceleration in preferences
Just wondering if others are using the OpenCL preference, and how that is working out?
Phase says it's compatible with an AMD Radeon HD 6750M (MacBook PRO 8,2). That is the one in my 2011 MacBook Pro.
In my imac I have a AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Phase says OpenCL is compatible with a ATI Radeon 6900 Series (6990, 6970,6950). When OpenCL is on in my imac I get random errors when scrolling. The thumbnails "liquify" and decompose.
It still seems buggy so I always have it set to "Never". I have not tried using it in C1 6.4.3

If the OpenCL feature is degrading performance or causing troubles on a recent Mac model, I suggest you open a support case with Phase One. 0 -
Just curious if folks out there are using the acceleration or keeping it off. If you are using it, what performance improvements do you notice?

I'm on a macpro 16gb Ram ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
One of the supported graphics cards, but I've always found it causes weird preview redraws, colours go strange, so always have it turned off.
I also have it switched off with CS6, files look out of focus unless I zoom in.0 -
With the current implementation of OpenCL in Capture One 6 you will not see a performance increase per se' with it turned on or off... What it is affecting is the refresh rate of the preview while making adjustments. A good Graphics card should make the redraw smoother. that said every card is different (and the 5770's are notoriously unstable, creating kernel panics) so if you have any problems with preview refresh or kernel panics we suggest simply setting OpenCL to Never in Capture One. 0 -
Jon What card do you recommend? I had underwhelming performance from the 4870 so bought a flashed gtx285 (mainly for cuda in Resolve) but am getting crazing redraws (works fine in Cuda demanding apps) and feel like turning off OpenCL slows redraws. Am considering a 5780 or GTX580 but I'm not sure. 0 -

Does OpenCL help create faster previews on imported Canon and Nikon files?0
