Capture One Pro 8 - Mask Artifacts - Bugs & Gripes

The following Issues with Capture One Pro 8:
I have been getting artifacts in my masks with Capture One Pro 8. This has happened when I have made more than one pass brushing in a mask in Layers. I will often brush in two, three, or four passes at 25% - 50% opacity to aid gradual transitions and or emphasize adjustments in different areas of the image. It does not happen all the time, but is a concern as it is one of those things that can remain unseen until later. They appear as rectangular "blobs" with curved corners, kind of like small to medium sized air pockets in the mask, which makes for some ugly results. I tried pasting examples in this email, but was not successful. If it is possible to include images (I see an image tag) let me know the correct steps and I will include them in another post.
I had some very weird behavior where as I clicked in the image area on highlight areas the corresponding line/point in the Histogram, Levels, and Curves were inconsistent. The histogram display was accurate with the line/point in the highlight range, but the Levels and Curves were displaying the line/point in the opposite range in the shadow area. Needless to say placing a sample point in Curves when trying to adjust highlights and having the point set in the shadows is a dead end, stop your work, and export to Photoshop.
I have been trying to wean myself off of all Adobe products for the past year and have been using Capture One Pro 7 and now 8, Irridient Developer, and DXO as alternative tools. My experience with Capture One has been good and I have been using Capture One Pro 8 exclusively on my work recently, in part to become completely familiar with it. I have not tried printing from Capture One yet (still go through CS5) but in most other respects I can often get or get close to a finished image using it. In my experience this last year although generally reliable, with solid features, I do see more bugs in Capture One 7 and 8 than with Adobe products and have had crashes or had to close Capture One Pro 7. This has been an inconvenience rather than resulting in lost work which has not happened to me. By the way I am a Capture One customer because of Adobe's force fed subscription policy. I am sure I am not alone in having concerns with Capture One offering subscription plans. I am one user who will only use tools I can purchase and own.
Delay when brushing in a mask is something that is a nuisance. I am using a 2.8GHZ dual core system with 8GB RAM, and Flash Drive (Mavericks 10.9).
I have occasionally inadvertently ended up locking two images together when I am hitting Enter to lock in a setting after typing in a number in one the number fields. That seems like it can really screw things up, but I lucked out in quickly finding what I hope is the correct solution Edit > Clear Varient. Still this is an unwanted surprise that happens too often.
I have to use Adobe Bridge side by side with Capture One as I am browsing my files to Import because the Import window in Capture One does not allow for a "film strip" view where I can view images at near full screen, nor does the Import Window allow you to zoom in to check focus or small differences between concurrent images. Anyone have a workaround I would like to hear it, or if I am missing something please fill me in.
Curves - making precise adjustments in Curves is a pain in Capture One as you can not use the arrow keys or enter in Input/Output values manually. Once again if I am incorrect here please set me straight, I would love to get beyond adjusting Curves with my mouse.

To post an image, you put it somewhere online (for instance on your own website, or in a public dropbox folder) then you paste the URL of the image between the IMG tags.

Regarding the mask artifacts I sent screen shots into tech support. I was drawing in the masks with "Auto Mask" selected. When I redrew the masks without Auto Mask selected there were no artifacts. Tech Support responded that this may be an issue with Auto Mask and noise in the file. This file was shot at 6400 ISO with a Nikon D750.
Regarding Import Window preview size - not being able to view images in film strip mode with a single selected image fitting/filling the remaining window area for maximum viewing. This can not be done in the Import Window, but you can do it just as easily from the Library Tool tab. Basic application specific workflow - review images from the Library Tool, select image, and import. I was reviewing images from the Import window which is limited in how large the preview image can be sized.0
