Capture one 7 and Mac Pro 2008

Hello,

Has anyone used C1 with a Mac Pro tower 2008, 3 1 running Mavericks? I want to use latest version of Capture one with my Mac Pro 3,1. It runs Mavericks no problem, has 12 gigs RAM and an SSD 250gig boot drive with terabyte HHD. I'm sure it is fine for edits, but I want to be able to shoot to it, too. I'm worried that there are perhaps some firm ware limitations or something. Has anyone had any experience with this set up, or any knowledge as to performance issues with this set up - unreasonably slow rendering, snagging, sluggishness, crashing too often, etc ... Thanks!!

  I have run it on a far lesser piece of hardware. Sometimes I use a MacPro 2,1, 8 GB of RAM, traditional HDD for tethered shooting of a Canon 5D and 1D. It's obviously not as snappy as a new machine but it does work.

  I ran it for about a year on my early 2008 Mac Pro (only 4 cores) with 8GB Ram. I had no issues that are tied to the hardware. It wasn't sluggish in my estimation. I'm a hobbyist, not a pro, but my only issues were with the software (Smart Albums) and when I replaced my old machine with a new iMac, the same Smart Album issue appeared on the new machine, despite the fact I did NOT import settings or use Migration Assistant. It seems to be a bug, albeit I'm puzzled why I don't hear about others with the issue. But to answer your question, I think the 2008 Mac Pro is up to the job.

  Cool, i'm excited to hear that because my mac pro 2008 is running quite well, I'm very pleased, and I don't have the money to upgrade just yet. Thanks guys!!
