Raw thumbnail shows but hangs on "loading"

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and have spent ages reading through the past threads but can't find anything relating to this problem.

I select a folder in the library and the thumbnails are quickly shown in the thumbnail window at the botom of the screen.

I click on the image that I would like to adjust or view in the main area and then usually the image is displayed. But sometimes the message comes up "loading". And that's it, it just hangs. This happens with the same image each time, it is not random.

I can open this image in my Olympus viewer software (it is an ORF file), and can open other images in Captre One 4 without problem.

I have also had several error messages and the software close down, but from what I understand this has been fixed with the 4.0.1 version?

Hopefully someone can help with this. I would like to purchase the software (I'm using the trial at the moment) as it seems to meet all of my needs.

C1 V4 AND V4.1 have a BUG (that i talk/contact to support case but no reply and no solution from phaseone)

Probably your images are ready only. Open your folder in windows explorer and check properties...

Capture One 4 or 4.1 CAN NOT work with ready only files.

Thanks for the reply, I have checked and the file was read only. I have unchecked this in the properties and can now open the image.

This is going to prove to be a big pain. I guess that read only occurs when you lock an image in the camera. Guess I'll have to stop using that function or go back to Olympus viewer.
I have had some STUNNING results from previously "binned" images though, CO4 manages to rescue loads of detail and does a good job of reducing noise (of which I get a lot with the E-1).

I have read your previous post, lets hope that they get something sorted.
