Do you want the star rating back or get lost of the color tag as well?

I want the star rating to stay.
I select multi-starred images for further processing in photoshop and would like to see the edited come back with the stars so that it show up with the same search criteria as the original image.

A quick test with a session in CO 8.3.3 > Edit with... > Photoshop, reveals that both rating and tag are transferred from the raw to the tiff. So it is possible, should work, but why not with your setup?

Catalog or session. If catalog, fully manage or referenced original?

    Referenced catalog.

Thank you. Would you mind trying the following?
    1. create a new catalog, import a few images, rate and tag, Edit with command, what happens.
    2. if not successful, try the basics in maintenance like delete preferences, repair permissions (OS X) and try again.

My color tag and/or star selections disappear when I start to select others. I was told to create new sessions. Did that still a problem. I had to move my selections to another directory to insure that the images I wanted to work with would be there. Spent much time at 500 images tagging them and most of them were lost.

Click on your RAW file that has a star/color. Hover your mouse of anywhere on the actual image. Next, right click and navigate the pop-in menu to "EDIT WITH" and choose Photoshop.

You'll then get a dialogue box that has 3 tabs: "Basic", "Adjustments", and "Metadata".

Select "Metadata" and check the box "Rating and Color Tag". Finally, hit "Edit Variants"

Your RAW image will open into Photoshop. Make further adjustments, then close/save the file.

When it goes back into C1, the Tif file will retain the same star/color tag rating as your assigned RAW file.
