Could P1 learn a lot from Camerabits?
Are you continually surprised by the perceived arrogance of P1 engineering/support team?
Is there a perceived sense that they know what's better for the pros, and pros should cater to their workflow?
Do you feel that perhaps their product would be incrementally better, not worse, if they had banished their current system and implement the suggestions from users on their forums?
Do you think that Camerabits, maker of Photomechanic, has a support/tech staff that is quick to respond to items discussed on their forums? Do you think CB staff is very open to suggestions and often implement many of the best features suggested by their users?
Would you be surprised that a major company has reupped 23 licenses every year since Photomechanic was introduced? And do you think it was because of their excellent, responsive customer support? Are you surprised that P1 lost licensing fees that Camerabits has worthily reaped?

Simple to answer each question: no
By the way, Capture One and Camera Bits' Photo Mechanic make a great combination! 😊 Use them every day. Love them! Best of both worlds.
Quite a start for a first post as new member of the forum. Or just a new identity? Sometimes people do that when they were banned, you know. Not you of course. Funny nickname though.0 -
Yeah, I kind of defended this poster in a different thread, but this is pretty ridiculous.
I still stand by my comments to Ulf in the other thread, but clearly his accusations were right on target.
"c1pro" - you don't need to try to pull users over to your product. Phase One's ability--or inability--to react to customer's demands will take care of the matter for you. If they can't make us happy, we'll look elsewhere. That's the beauty of free markets.
But being a corporate stooge on someone else's user forums is just tacky and smacks of desperation and disrespect.0 -
Hi,
c1pro isn't pushing any product, Photo Mechanic isn't a RAW processor. It may not be fair to compare Phase One with Camera Bits. They offer exceptional support - in the true meaning of the word. I don't know any software company that can match Camera Bits.
Phase One A/S do offer good support which is improving. If support is important don't forget your local suppliers. Many like the P1 supplier in Australia offer personal assistance. Another reason for you to support them rather than purchasing anonymously on the internet.
I'll step off my soap box now. 😊
