C1 Pro 3.7 slow as a turtle
Hi folks
I'm having a little bit of trouble with C1 Pro 3.7. It's slow as a turtle! I've seen it working in systems less powerful than mine and it was much smoother. My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
120Gb Sata hd (split 3 in partitions, system boot is in the first and C1 is intalled in third partition along with other programs)
80Gb IDE hd (where pictures are stored)
1Gb RAM
Windows XP Pro SP2
After reading some of the posts here I've tried moving the cache folder to the boot drive, and all other drives. Didn't work. Tried installing C1 in the same drive where pictures are stored. Didn't work. Tried installing C1 in the same partition as OS. Didn't work.
Any other ideas? I'm still using the 30 day trial, but if I can't solve this problem I won't go for a licensed version, because the program is running so slow that it even crashes (\"program not responding\" warning).
Thanks a lot for any replies,
Gustavo K.

Just to complement my previous post, the creation of previews part is where everythng locks up and gets really slow, culminating in a program crash. I've disabled (set to the min. level) the noise supression option as well. If it's of any interest, my RAW files come from a Canon 300D camera. 0 -
Follow this knowledge base article:
http://support.phaseone.com/KB/Home/Sea ... nguageID=1
When done reinstall application with default settings and you should see clear impovements.0 -
Thanks for the reply Ulf but it didn't work. Did what was recommended in the knowledge base but it didn't generate any improvement.
I'm starting to believe it has something to do with my hard drives. In the system I mentioned in the first post, less powerful than mine and running C1 smoothly, the IDE hard drive is primary and the SATA drive is secondary, exactly opposite to mine. Could the partitions affect the way C1 is running? With the exception of C1, all other programs, including some heavy ones like Photoshop CS2 and Acrobat Professional, are running smoothly and very fast.
Any other ideas?
Thank you very much0 -
I do not believe so.
Did you clean out it exacly as described in article? Is cache empty and application installed with standard settings?
Did you do the last thing on the page? Reboot? It is more important when you think when you are deleteing values that is loaded by OS.0 -
Yes Ulf, followed the KB information exactly. Cache is empty, standard installation works fine. Cleaned the files, cleaned folders, cleaned registry entries, rebooted, still nothing. Load times are really slow, just as if I was loading my raw files from an old fashioned diskette. Really really slow.
Any other ideas?0 -
Just an update, I've downloaded the LE version and the very same problem happened. Everything was terribly slow.
One other ideas on what may be causing this?0 -

Maybe using some of the free analysis tools from might help you in finding the problem?
For me using for example FileMon revealed some stuff going on with my hdd that I never was aware of.
Problem is, it aint easy to find anything in these information if you don't know what to look for - but you won't ever find anything without searching.0
