Convert Catalogue to Session?

I'm sure I managed to do this a few years back but can't recall how.

I have a Catalogue of images on my laptop that I wish to import into the Catalogue on my desktop computer, in essence, merging them but still keeping any edits I have made to the images on my laptop.

As I said, I've done this before but can't recall if I converted the Catalogue on my laptop to a Session and then imported or managed to merge two Catalogues into one still keeping all of the edits I made.

Can this be done as if so how?

  Thank you for that link, I had seen it and tried it; it sort of worked in that I could merge the catalogue from my latop into the catalogue on my desktop but...
  
  It didn't import any of the adjustments I'd already made on the laptop.
