I notice someone asked this question a couple of months ago with no replies. Surely someone knows the answer?

Can anyone give me any guidance on how the print sharpening in C1 works and the way it should be applied? There don't seem to be any meaningful materials around on this topic. I'm after guidance on this particular tool - I understand sharpening well and am familiar with Lightroom's print sharpener, unsharp mask and Photokit's plugins.

    Cheers.

When you print, pictures will basically be processed, and thus sharpening (as defined in the Details tool tab) will be applied. On top of that, you can define an amount of sharpening (from the Print dialog) to be applied on top of this when printing, as printing will usually require a bit more sharpening than if you were looking at it on the screen.

    Hope this helped.

That is a start. Is there nay guidance on how the tool works in terms of determining appropriate starting point settings for print sharpening. For example, over the weekend I printed some shots taken with the Leica Monochrom and left the setting on the default of 25 (glossy paper). The prints certainly looked similar to what I have printed out in Lightroom in terms of sharpening, but I have no idea what 25 means? Also, does the sharpening setting take account of the print size?
