G9 & EOS 5D .CR2 conflict in One 4.1?
I downloaded Capture One 4.1 to allow me to process images from my recently bought Powershot G9.
I now find that any images captured on my EOS 5D and processed in Capture One 4.1 appear extremely dark when opened automatically in CS2. The Powershot G9 images are fine when they open up in CS2.
Any images which I processed in Capture One 4 (not 4.1) and which appear fine when viewed (but not processed) in Capture One 4.1 are also fine when opened up in CS2.
So it appears that any processing I've carried out on EOS 5D images in Capture One 4.1 is not being reflected when those images appear in CS2.
Does this have anything to do with the fact that Capture One 4.1 recognises both the G9 and 5D raw files (both have the .CR2 suffix) but that there's a conflict between the two?
Is there any way I can uninstall Capture One 4.1 and reinstall Capture One 4?

Some short answers.
No, there is no CR2 confusion. Despite the similar file extension, Capture One distinguish type and model from internal tags. All Canons with raw support have CR2 files since approx. 4 years, no problem.
Yes, I you can uninstall CO 4.0.1 (no 4.1 yet, but what's in name?) and install CO 4.0. You will loose G9 support of course. Better look for the root cause of the problem.
Let's start with fresh 5D files, not processed with any CO4 before. How do they appear? And: when you talk about opening in CS2, do you mean the processed files (JPEG or TIFF) or the CR2 files?
Next, what is your output profile (like AdobeRGB or sRGB). What is the work space setting in CS2?
Should keep you busy over the weekend...0 -
Hi Paul,
Many thanks for taking the time to respond. I do appreciate it.
All EOS 5D images previously unprocessed in C1 4 look absolutely dreadful when, after processing in C1 4.01, they appear as TIFF files in CS2. Very, very dark and very, very unsaturated. Basically they don't resemble in any way the image as they appeared in C1 4.01.
However, images that were processed in C1 4 look no different when I look at them in C1 4.01. And curiously they look fine when I process them and they appear as TIFF files in CS2.
I would imagine that it would have something to do with colour space, but the settings I've introduced into C1 4.01 are identical to those I had in C1 4.
Very curious and very frustrating!
Thanks again, Paul.

Hi Ian,
Difficult to put my finger on the cause of the very dark image conversions of your 5D in CO 4.0.1.
You could try to delete Capture One.col in My Pictures\\Capture One Library folder. Maybe it helps (not very hopeful though).0
