Selecting Images NOT In Any Catalog Set
How can I eaisly select all of my images that are NOT assigned to any catalog set or subset?

Two ways:
The best is to use Find (Ctrl / Cmd + F) and enter "Catalog Sets" in the first search filter and "Is Empty" in the second. Then the Find button should reveal all images in the current view that don't have any Catalog Sets. If you need to find images without a specific Catalog set then you would chose "Doesn't Contain" as the second filter and in the third prompt enter enough of the catalog set value to be unique.
The alternative method is to select the images that are in catalog sets manually and then under the Edit menu is an "Invert Selection" method or under the Find menu is a "Hide Selected" menu.
It can take a bit of practice to get any search working as expected. Sometimes the best thing is to "Show All" items and then search. When you get the hang of this you can search within the results of searches...

Thanks imaginatian, The "is empty" search seems to work well. Your response is appreciated. Mardon 0
